Converting Illustrator(AI)/Photoshop(PS) files to PDF format
Our company has a software which helps to convert AI/PS files to PDF formats, to allow users to open the files to view.
However if you are required to edit, please get assistance from Prepress Team.
We have a Network Drive, which helps to convert the files. If you do not see the Network Drive in your PC, please contact IT.
Below are the steps to convert files.
- Access Computer
- You could find it on your desktop, if it is not,
- Click on Start button from your taskbar. and search for Computer (Windows 7) or My PC (Windows 8.1 and 10)
- Under Network Location, you will be able to see the network drives that are mapped to your PC.
- Access the network drive, \\192.168.2.21\Hot\Preflight Check
- There are 3 folders within the network drive. The functions of each folder will be described below.
- IN (Files dropped here will be converted to PDF, and removed from this folder)
- OUT (PDF files after converting successfully will be placed here automatically by the system)
- REJECT (Any conversion that fails will be placed here)
Things to Note
- Do not Delete any files from any of the folder in this network drive (It might cause system to stop functioning)
- Copy out your files from the OUT folder (Prepress Team will manage and delete the items in the folder)
- Not all files can be converted, if this happens, please ask prepress to convert files manually. (The system ain't flawless after all)
