The very first thing you need to know for Microsoft Team is to create a team.

Create a team

1. Ensure you are on Teams tab.
2. Select Join or create a team.
3. Select Create team to create a new team.

4. Select Build a team from scratch.
5. By default, Private is selected for a new team, this will prevent people to join your team by themselves, and only you are able to add members or groups to the team. Private settings is highly recommended. However, if you would wish for anyone to find and join your team themselves, select Public. Click on your desired settings.
   
6. Provide a name for the newly created team. You may also add a description to describe about the purpose of this team then click Create.
   
7. The next page will prompt you to add members to the team. You may choose to add them now, or select Skip to add them later.
8. Select the proper permissions for the newly added member. There are 2 permissions to choose from, Member or Owner. By default, Member is selected. When you are done adding members, select Add and then Close.
